Seeing as how I just wrote a huge long explanation of my first day and it was all deleted, im going to make this quick :) I'm here and im safe! I was given a comlimentary Air New Zealand flight bag for having to switch my seat due to a broken seat and t.v. I made it through customs without having to open my already busting bags. My Visa cleared and I sucsessfully exchanged my currency! Sweet Paul and Pamela picked me up at the airport at 5:30 am, after which all of the PolkaDots and their adorable children were gathered at Dionne's house for a welcome breakfast for me. Delta and Anika had made me a "Welcome Allison" poster and we ate Milo (NZ hot chocolate) and crumpits. I was extremely happy to see that all of the children are sweet and really seemed to like me right away. After breakfast I was taken to the Reid home/PolkaDots Headquarters which is something akin to a resort. Its BEAUTIFUL I didnt get a chance to take pictures of the outside before the sun went down but there is a lake like right outside the front door and green rolling hills everywhere! And in true NZ fashion we had fish and chips for dinner. My room is incredible! There is a window bench overlooking the most amazing hills and I have this queen bed and Pamela gave me a lovely blanket to cuddle up with. I'm very tired and a tad homesick but otherwise I'm in heaven!

only 8 days left!

So my plan is to update this at least once a week or when amazing things happen. I'm going to be honest i've never done anything like this before and I might be very awkward at it... bare with me. As for my intentions of updating often, I'm not in NZ yet so we'll see how it goes :) I have 8 days left in America and I'm already silently freaking out, but I am 99% just really stoked to go. So I don't have much to say other than I will miss you all! Thank you for all your love and support! I'm working on getting an address to give you all but until I do you can just email me.
